Stories Told Through Art, Heard Across Richmond
The Q Art Hour gives emerging LGBTQ+ artists aged 16 to 24 a place to share their lived experiences through art. Its exhibitions invite Richmond audiences to listen, connect, and grow in understanding.

Imagine walking into a Richmond gallery on an evening when the walls hold something deeply personal. Each piece carries the story of a young LGBTQ+ artist who has spent time building their voice, shaping their ideas, and finding the courage to share them. Visitors move slowly from one work to the next, pausing to take in what they see and feel.
Behind every exhibition is a creative process designed to help young artists grow. Before their work reaches the public, artists take part in a structured program that supports them in developing their voice and rooting their art in their own experience. Along the way they gain confidence, tools, and a platform where their stories can be heard.
For the people who come to listen, the experience becomes a bridge. A stranger's story can open a conversation, shift a perspective, or leave someone feeling a little less alone. Friends, families, and allies find themselves reflecting on the people around them and the communities they belong to.
In this way, The Q Art Hour works quietly but meaningfully. Each show becomes a moment when a young artist is seen, a visitor is changed, and Richmond becomes a little more connected and a little more compassionate.
