The importer lives in your dashboard under Volunteers → Import Roster. It reads standard CSV and Excel files, so whatever you export from your current system usually drops right in.

Import how it actually fits your situation
Choose one of three modes at import time, so your roster arrives with the right compliance status — whether you’re migrating cleared volunteers or just building a contact list to invite later.
Already cleared
Migrating from another provider and you already hold signed FCRA authorization? Mark them active on arrival. Include each person’s last check date and they’ll auto-rescreen when it ages out.
Hold authorization — screen now
You have signed authorization on file and want to run their $5 checks. They come in ready to screen, so you can kick off background checks right away.
Contact info only
Just building your roster for now? Import names and emails with no authorization needed — importing contact info isn’t a background check. They arrive as “Pending,” and become screenable the moment they’re invited to apply and sign.
Importing contact information is not a background check and isn’t a consumer report — so you never need signed authorization just to build your roster. Authorization is only required to actually screen someone, and contact-only volunteers are automatically blocked from screening until they apply and sign the FCRA disclosure.
Your columns, matched for you
Headers are matched by name — case, spacing, and order don’t matter — so you rarely have to reshape your file. Anything we recognize maps automatically; anything we don’t is listed back to you as ignored, never guessed.

Safe to re-run — no duplicates
We de-duplicate by email against your existing roster and within the file itself, so anyone already on file is skipped automatically. Re-upload an updated list anytime; only genuinely new people are added.
