Where curiosity takes root and families grow together
Roots & Wings Indy is a parent-led homeschool co-op in Indianapolis where families gather each week to learn, create, and build friendships that last. It gives children a welcoming place to put down roots and discover their wings.
Picture a Wednesday morning in Indianapolis when the parking area starts to fill and kids spill out of cars with backpacks and sketchbooks. Parents greet one another by name, and before long the day is humming with classes around the picnic tables and under the pavilion, weather permitting. Every adult in the room is there to teach or help, so the energy feels shared rather than handed off.
Across the morning and afternoon, children move between hands-on classes grouped by age and mixed-age electives where they learn alongside new friends. Younger ones often find their learning happening outdoors, while older students dig into projects that stretch their thinking. Lunch and play time become a natural place for conversations that carry on long after the bell.
For the families who come through these doors, the co-op offers something steady: a community that welcomes every background and learning style, and a place where parents can lean on one another. Over the seasons, shared field trips, camps, and celebrations turn a group of households into a neighborhood of its own.
