Faith in motion for a more just world

In neighborhoods across Indianapolis and six regions beyond, people of faith are stepping out of the pews and into the work of justice. Love in Action Social Justice Ministry serves as a gathering place for church leaders, community advocates, and ordinary believers who believe that faith without works rings hollow. They come together around a shared conviction: that following Jesus means actively confronting the systems that harm the most vulnerable—whether those systems show up in voter suppression, unfair criminal sentencing, underfunded schools, or communities trapped in cycles of poverty.

What makes this work different is the grounding it provides. Rather than abstract ideals, Love in Action equips people with education, training, and practical pathways to engage. A church member learns how voter suppression affects their neighborhood and leaves with tools to register voters and mobilize their congregation. A community leader takes a workshop on criminal justice reform and returns home with clarity on how to advocate for the formerly incarcerated. Teachers and parents discover connections between inequitable school funding and the school-to-prison pipeline, and they find ways to push back.

Across seventy districts and countless congregations, this ministry shows what it means to walk humbly with God while refusing to be silent about injustice. They move from prayer to planning to action—measuring what they move, building structures designed to outlast any single season. Every initiative is rooted in Scripture, shaped by the cultures and languages of the communities they serve, and driven by a single conviction: that God's heart beats for justice, and so must ours.
