A Table Set for Someone Who Needed One
Project One Forty Three connects orphaned children with families who open their homes and hearts, giving young people the lasting experience of being cared for by people who truly belong to them.

Imagine a child who has known more goodbyes than birthdays, arriving in an unfamiliar place with a single bag and a heart full of questions. For that child, a welcoming family can change everything. Project One Forty Three works to make those moments possible, bringing orphaned children into homes where they can experience the everyday comfort of being known and loved.
In an example story like this, a host family might begin with a simple decision: to say yes. Over the weeks that follow, the kitchen table becomes a place for shared meals, small jokes, and quiet conversations. The family learns about a child's favorite songs and fears, and the child slowly discovers that a home can be a place to rest rather than a place to brace for the next change.
Many of the families who take part describe the experience as one that stretches them in unexpected ways. They learn about different cultures, carry new understanding back into their own communities, and often find that the child they welcomed has left a lasting mark on their hearts. Every visit is a reminder that hope grows where people choose to show up.
The mission behind this work is captured in the belief that every orphaned child deserves to experience the love of a family. Project One Forty Three keeps that goal at the center, so that each story begun at a host family's door can become a chapter of belonging that lasts long after the visit ends.
