Prayer That Meets People Where They Live
Encounter Missions sends trained teams to parishes, schools, and neighborhoods in Lawrence's partner countries to share healing prayer and strengthen local Catholic communities. Their work turns a single visit into ministry that continues long after the team goes home.

Imagine a quiet afternoon in a village church, the pews half full, when a small team walks in carrying nothing but their faith and a willingness to listen. They pull up a chair, ask what is weighing on a neighbor's heart, and offer to pray. In this example story, that simple invitation becomes a turning point for someone who had almost stopped hoping for healing.
Encounter Missions works this way across the world. Teams of trained volunteers move through churches, schools, and streets, offering home visits to pray for the sick, healing services in parish settings, and youth gatherings that invite young people into a deeper faith. Each team is sent to a specific place for a few intense, focused days, so the ministry feels personal rather than rushed.
Just as important is what remains behind. Missions often include training for priests, clergy, and lay leaders, so local believers gain the confidence to pray for healing and share the Gospel on their own. The goal is not a visiting crowd but a stronger Church that keeps going.
For the volunteers, the mission changes them too. They return home renewed in their own walk with the Lord and ready to carry that same healing love into their everyday lives. This is a sample story for editing: the details above are illustrative and should be replaced with real accounts approved by the organization.
