Production Rights & Royalty Tracker
Two things amateur companies get wrong, and this workbook puts both on the row rather than in a disclaimer. A performance in front of an audience is generally royalty-bearing whether or not you charge admission and however few people attend — so the free donor preview, the invited dress and the twenty-minute excerpt at the gala each get a row and a covered-by-the-licence cell. And you generally may not change the work: cutting lines, softening language or casting a role against the written gender typically needs the author’s prior written permission, so every proposed change gets a row that stays red until an answer arrives.
- Every performance before an audience, not just the ticketed ones
- Change requests red until permission arrives in writing
- A production with a first-performance date and no licence, flagged
