Box Office Reconciliation Log

The box office is the one place in most volunteer-run arts organisations where cash and a stranger meet, and usually the least controlled. Two things run separately here: tickets reconcile against what was issued, and money reconciles against what was expected — because a house can balance to the cent and still be missing forty tickets. The control that matters is two unrelated people counting and both signing, so a single name keeps the row red on a night where nothing at all was wrong. That is not an accusation; it is what stops any one volunteer from ever being the only person who could have.
