Where Wake Forest Kids Find Their Game

On a cool weekend morning in Wake Forest, the fields at Oak Forest Sports come alive with the sound of whistles, laughter, and sneakers squeaking across fresh turf. Here, a child who has never kicked a ball or held a racket can take their first steps into sport, guided by coaches who remember what it felt like to be new at something.

Think of a shy younger player who arrives early, unsure where to stand. Over a season of practices and small victories, that same child starts calling out to teammates, cheering for a friend's good pass, and walking off the field with a grin. Moments like these are what the community comes to expect from Oak Forest Sports.

Behind the scene, parents trade rides, siblings learn to share a water bottle, and neighbors who met at a sideline chair become friends for life. The work is less about trophies and more about giving every local kid a place to belong.
