Building Financial Confidence in Black and Brown Girls
Fearless Brown Girls Incorporated empowers young Black and Brown girls in Charlotte, NC with financial literacy education and mentorship, helping them develop the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions that shape their futures.

Every young person deserves to feel confident with money. For many Black and Brown girls, the opportunity to learn about budgeting, saving, and investing comes too late—or not at all. Fearless Brown Girls Incorporated, based in Charlotte, recognizes that financial literacy is a superpower, and they're committed to placing that power directly into the hands of the young women who need it most.
The organization offers a range of programs designed to make money mastery engaging and accessible. Through the Financially Confident Teens Initiative, girls aged 14-18 participate in interactive workshops that demystify credit management, retirement planning, and entrepreneurship. For those with business ambitions, the Mind Your Business program guides aspiring and established teen entrepreneurs through everything from branding and marketing to managing their business finances. Each program is thoughtfully crafted to meet girls where they are—whether they're just beginning to think about their financial future or ready to launch their own ventures.
Beyond workshops, Fearless Brown Girls pairs participants with financial mentors through the Cultivate Your Coins Mentorship initiative. These one-on-one relationships provide ongoing guidance, helping girls set and achieve savings goals while building the kind of personalized support that transforms abstract concepts into real, lived confidence. The annual Empowerment Summit brings it all together, creating a transformative experience where girls meet inspirational leaders, explore career possibilities, and strengthen both their financial knowledge and mental well-being.
At its heart, Fearless Brown Girls is about possibility. By equipping young Black and Brown girls with financial education and mentorship, the organization is helping build a generation of women who understand their own economic power and can make decisions that positively shape their lives and their communities for years to come.
