A late-night sanctuary for tea and connection
La Lune Teahouse is a Berkeley-based nonprofit that offers a welcoming space for people to gather over tea, practice mindful brewing, and build community with others in a consent-centered environment.

La Lune operates as a late-night teahouse open until midnight, creating a unique gathering space where visitors can slow down with traditional Chinese tea preparation. The teahouse emphasizes consent culture—whether you choose to join a communal table, sit with your group, or enjoy solitude is entirely up to you, with no expectations or explanations needed.
At the heart of their practice is gong fu cha, a meditative brewing method of many small steepings that unfolds gradually. Members gain everyday access to the full selection of teas and tisanes, with options to upgrade for premium offerings and guest passes. La Lune roots itself in values of consent, community care, and repair, creating a space where tea becomes a reason to stay and connect with others in the East Bay.
