Where community discovers the joy of horses

Just two miles north of the Baltimore Beltway, nestled within the rolling trails of Gunpowder Falls State Park, sits a farm with deep roots in the community. Graham Equestrian Center stands on land that once belonged to Dr. Albert Graham, who made a simple but powerful wish when he deeded his property to the city: that it remain a place where horses are part of the landscape and the experience. Today, that vision lives on through the center's work—a nonprofit dedicated to sharing the joy of horses with anyone who walks through the gate.

On any given day, you might find children taking their first riding lessons alongside adults discovering the confidence that comes from connecting with a horse. The center's instructors work with riders of all experience levels, meeting people wherever they are in their journey. Beyond the lesson arenas, the work extends into the community. Scout troops arrive for hands-on horsemanship education. Local groups come for outreach events that introduce neighbors to equine interaction.
