Opportunity description

The purpose of SPMGP is to support projects that strengthen and enhance the production and marketing of sheep and sheep products in the United States. This includes improving infrastructure, business, and resource development, and the development of innovative approaches to solve long-term needs. The SPMGP seeks to develop solutions for practical problems across the United States and address the needs of the entire sheep industry, while focusing on the measurable benefits for sheep producers. The program encourages collaboration among sheep industry organizations and aims to reduce duplication of efforts among participating organizations.

All applicants must be domestic entities owned, operated, and located within the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or Tribal Governments. Eligible entities are national entities with capacity to manage the program and with demonstrated support and engagement with the sheep industry, including non-profit, higher education institutions, government entities, or business entities.
