Opportunity description

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to (1) improve information exchange and transfer among States, Federal and Foreign Agencies, industry, and consumers; (2) strengthen state activities through training, technical assistance, research, education, and support for States to participate in meetings that foster a cooperative shellfish program based on public health principles; and (3) promote efforts and projects, including research, that will contribute significantly to the ability states to identify and implement scientifically defensible food safety controls to reduce the risk of illness associated with molluscan shellfish consumption, including but not limited to, pathogenic Vibrio spp, Campylobacter, and Salmonella.
