Safe-ministry training is six free Academy courses. They are assigned when someone is placed in a ministry whose training track is safe-ministry, and only while Church tools are on. A leader can also assign one of these courses from the person's profile. Assigning a course, attaching a real Academy certificate, or approving a completion does not require a paid plan. Finishing them does not approve or decline anyone, and it does not replace VIRTUS, Safe Sanctuaries, or training your insurer requires.
The six courses
Recognizing grooming, the two-adult rule, digital boundaries, responding to a disclosure, mandated reporting, and screening well for leaders. Each of those, other than mandated reporting, is a short lesson with a scenario. Screening well for leaders walks through the interview questions a leader asks and writes down. It does not score the answers. Each course page shows the date the lesson text was written. That page does not offer to order a background check. The mandated-reporting course does not state your state's statute. It is a placeholder for language from your counsel. The courses sit beside VIRTUS or Safe Sanctuaries. They do not replace them.
Renewal
The Safe ministry record treats the set as current only while every course was completed inside that ministry's recheck window. When a finished course is older than that window, it is assigned again. The earlier certificate stays on file. A gap here is a training record. It is not a change to the person's status.
