The child protection pack is a draft your congregation edits and then publishes. It appears on Policies when Church tools are on. Publishing creates a numbered version. A person acknowledges that version. An older acknowledgment does not cover a newer one.
What you edit
A new draft arrives with practice language to edit. It covers touch, the two-adult rule, restrooms, one-on-one meetings, overnights, transportation, electronic communication, photography, medical needs, off-site events, and a code of conduct. A draft you already saved is left as you saved it. The suspected-abuse section is a placeholder. It does not state what your state requires, and it does not describe a clergy privilege. Replace it with language from your counsel, including the statute you rely on, before you publish. The editor says so while that placeholder is still in the draft.
Acknowledgments
After a version is published, the page lists who still needs to acknowledge it. When that list is empty, it says everyone assigned to a ministry that requires the pack has acknowledged the current version. Copy a link for each person still on the list. Copying asks you to confirm first, because the new link replaces the previous one. The form names the person and the policy, and it says the acknowledgment covers that version only. They read that version and confirm it. The Safe ministry record counts an acknowledgment only when it is for the latest published version. Confirming a policy does not approve or decline anyone.
