Collect donations

Accept one-time, monthly, or yearly gifts on your own branded donation page — paid straight to your nonprofit’s bank via Stripe, with a shareable link, QR code, fundraising goal, and automatic tax receipts.

Beyond screening, VolunteerBadge lets your nonprofit collect donations — one-time, monthly, or yearly gifts — on your own branded page at secure.volunteerbadge.com/donate/your-org, with a shareable link, QR code, a fundraising goal bar, and automatic emailed tax receipts. The money goes straight to your nonprofit

Donations are processed by Stripe and charged on your ownStripe account — your organization is the merchant of record, so receipts come from you and it's clean for tax purposes — then paid out to your bank. VolunteerBadge never holds your funds. We add a small platform fee per gift to keep the feature running (shown transparently to every donor before they give — see “Why is there a fee?” below), and donors can optionally cover the fees so 100% of their gift reaches you.

Setting it up

Two things need to be true before Donations can go live — both are one-time, free, and exist to confirm you're a real, accountable nonprofit before real money starts flowing:

Complete a free identity verification (the same government-ID + selfie check used for background checks). If you've already verified for screening, you're set.
Claim your public profile by EIN under Public Profile— this confirms your organization against real IRS records. An admin-approved listing that hasn't been EIN-matched isn't sufficient for Donations specifically (it's fine for everything else in VolunteerBadge).

Then:

Open Donations and click Connect payouts to create your own independent Stripe account (your business details + a bank account for payouts). This is a real, standalone Stripe account with its own login — a bit more setup than a quick sign-up, but it means Stripe stands behind your account for any payment disputes, not VolunteerBadge.
Set your preset donation amounts (we start you off with $25/$50/$100/$250 — edit freely) — the same amounts work for one-time, monthly, and yearly giving.
Optionally set a fundraising goal — a progress bar appears on your page once a goal amount is set (leave it blank to hide the bar).
Pick a page style — Modern, Warm, Bold, or Minimal — to match your brand.
Add your logo, a hero image or short video, your story, and social links, then toggle Donations live.

What donors experience

Donors visit your dedicated donation page, pick One-Time, Monthly, or Yearly, choose a preset amount (or enter a custom one — capped at $5,000 per gift as a fraud-prevention measure), and check out securely with a card or bank transfer. They can give anonymously or dedicate their gift, and see a live breakdown of the gift, the estimated card-processing fee, and the VolunteerBadge platform fee before they give — with an expandable explaining why the fee exists. They can optionally cover those fees so 100% reaches you. Recurring donors are billed automatically each month or year. Every donor gets an emailed tax receipt(with your organization's name, EIN, and the required “no goods or services provided” statement) the moment their gift goes through.

Just launching

Donations are rolling out — if your Donations page shows “Coming soon,” the feature will unlock for your account shortly. Everything else in VolunteerBadge works as normal in the meantime.
