Opportunity description

The PHHS Block Grant Program allows recipients to address their own unique public health needs and challenges with evidence-based, innovative and community-driven methods. Recipients set their own goals and program objectives to address local priorities.

  • State governments

This program provides funding to the 61 eligible applicants identified in the authorizing statute to address their unique public health needs and challenges using innovative, locally defined methods. All 50 U.S. states (State Health Departments), the District of Columbia, 2 American Indian Tribes (Santee Sioux; Kickapoo Tribe, KS), 5 U.S. Territories (American Samoa, Guam, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands) and 3 Freely Associated States (Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Marshall Islands, and Republic of Palau) are eligible to apply.
